Are you looking for the right corporate magician in Los Angeles?

A good number of your Los Angeles guests work in entertainment for a living, which means they will clock an amateur act inside thirty seconds. There is no bluffing a room like that. The entertainment is the one line on your run of show you cannot afford to get wrong.

Josh Weidner is a Los Angeles magician who builds the show around your guests rather than a polished set that plays anywhere rather than a polished set that plays anywhere. Mingling magic during cocktails and clean comedy magic from the stage, which is what it takes for a room like this to remember it for the right reasons.

Josh has spent years in front of difficult rooms working out what lands and what to drop. Everything is clean from the outset, and none of it gets improvised at your cost.

What kind of Los Angeles events is Josh booked for?

Company holiday parties, client-appreciation nights, awards banquets, product launches, and charity auctions and fundraisers. Studio and agency calendars sit alongside the usual corporate work, and plenty of rooms are a mix of both.

Why interactive magic works on a Los Angeles crowd

A band performs in front of your guests. Interactive magic performs with them, which is a harder trick and a much better night. The format runs from a boardroom of ten to a ballroom of a thousand.

strolling close-up magic during cocktails, a comedy magic show as the headline, event hosting for the full program, or any mix of them. All clean, aimed squarely at a professional audience, and written around your company instead of a set that plays anywhere.

Common questions about booking a Los Angeles magician

Do you perform in Los Angeles?+
Yes. Josh performs corporate events, galas, holiday parties, and fundraisers throughout Los Angeles and the Los Angeles area. That covers Downtown Los Angeles, Century City and Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Culver City and El Segundo, Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena, plus West Hollywood, Long Beach and Anaheim.
A lot of our guests work in entertainment. Will they be impressed?+
They are usually the best audience in the room. People who work in production know how hard it is, and they tend to be the first to react when something actually fools them.
Can you work a smaller private venue rather than a hotel?+
Yes. Josh performs in private venues, restaurants and homes as often as hotel ballrooms, and the show scales down without losing anything.
How much does it cost to hire a magician in Los Angeles?+
Most corporate and gala bookings run $2,500 to $5,000. Where a date lands depends on the format, the guest count, and how long Josh is on. Most settle in the $2,500 to $4,000 range. The fee covers the performance, the planning calls, liability insurance, and material written around your organization.
How far in advance should we book?+
It depends more on the time of year than the type of event. 2 to 4 months out is normal. Peak dates, like weekends and the holiday season, can book up 6 to 12 months ahead. If your date is sooner than that it is still worth asking, because openings come up.
What format works best for our event?+
Three options: strolling close-up while guests arrive and mingle, a stage show once everyone is seated, or both. Strolling carries the early part of the night and breaks the ice when people do not know each other yet. The stage show is the moment the whole room shares. Most clients book the combination.
Can the show be customized for our company?+
Yes, and it is most of what makes the set land. Josh folds in the company name, the people the room knows, the product, and the references only your team will catch. That comes out of the planning call, so the more context you share, the more of it ends up on stage.
What size group does the show work for?+
Anywhere from a boardroom of 10 to a ballroom of 1000. Smaller rooms get a more conversational version of the show. Large rooms need staging and screens so the back of the room sees it properly.
Can Josh also host or emcee our event?+
Yes, and a lot of clients book it that way. Josh can run the whole program as host: opening the night, introducing speakers and award winners, covering the transitions, and keeping the schedule honest. The event hosting page covers how that works.
What if some of our guests do not want to participate?+
You're not really hiring a magician. You're hiring someone whose job is getting your guests interacting and enjoying themselves. Nobody is embarrassed, and nobody is pulled up in front of the room who isn't comfortable being there. The guests who would rather watch have just as good a night.
Is the material clean enough for our crowd?+
Yes. The whole act is built clean for a mixed professional room of executives, clients, and staff. The comedy comes from the magic and the guests who volunteer, never from putting someone on the spot.
What do you need for setup and sound?+
Strolling needs nothing but room to move. The stage show wants a performance area, a wireless headset mic, a handheld mic for volunteers, and a sound system the whole room can hear, plus about an hour to set before doors. Josh sends a full tech rider once the date is booked.
Do you carry insurance and provide a Certificate of Insurance?+
Yes. Many venues require a Certificate of Insurance before a performer is allowed on site. Josh carries liability coverage and provides a COI on request, usually the same day.
Do you perform outside Los Angeles?+
Yes. Josh performs nationwide, so if your company runs events in more than one market the same show works in every one of them. The quote is all-in before anything is signed.
